Hammer-on & pull-offs are two more things you should know about online guitar tabs.

Hammer-On:

Hammering on is when you pluck a string & then put your finger on the other fret that is indicated.

For example:

B|-------------------||
G|-------------------||
D|-------------0H2---||
A|-------0H2---------||
E|--0----------------||

Pull-Off

Pulling off is when you pull the finger off a fret that was already pressed on, thus making it sound great.

The technique with pulll-offs is not to be lifting you finger straight up off the string, but rather taking it off with a downward angle. This will provide more power to the pull-off, and it will sound better.
